Outline of Lakota Culture 114
how our Sacred Hoop is Broken
Whenever we violate a law, principle of value of our culture, we weaken the Sacred Hoop. If we continue violating these things, our Hoop will eventually be broken
When our Hoop becomes broken, Harmony, Balance, Beauty, and Peace leave us.
These good things are replaced with feelings of inferiority and shame.
We then begin filling this void with things that harm us and our bodies.
We begin to isolate ourselves; we lose respect for ourselves and others.
We lose sight of the unseen, spiritual world.
We experience loss of relationships.
